Frequently asked questions
WHAT DOES 'SERIES' MEAN?
In a nutshell - affordable, flexible and collectable. I want everyone to have beautiful art on their walls. And each piece of my art is guaranteed to coordinate with any other image in the 'Series'. So you can pick any image from the 'Tahoe Series' now, and add 2 more later. Build your own display, or buy a pre-matched collection and hang each as you need them. They can be hung vertically or horizontally, and paired to fill an odd space or a huge wall. Art is a great housewarming gift!
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIMITED EDITION AND ORIGINAL ART?
My original art is just that - a unique piece created by hand in the medium shown on the surface listed, i.e. Oil on canvas. There is only one ever made. There are all kinds of limited editions of varying value on the internet. The only kind sold on my site are signed, numbered and embellished by hand. Each canvas is numbered in the series to be sold and once sold-out, there are no more, i.e. 11 of 100. I embellish with overpaint to add texture and added vibrance. This guarantees each canvas is unique. Technically more than prints - they are Limited edition digital mixed-media on canvas or paper and each comes with a registered certificate of authenticity.
HOW IS LIMITED EDITION DIGITAL MIXED-MEDIA ART CREATED?
Through a professionally produced fine-art printing process called Giclée. Using color-matched images, high-end printers and archival inks, the art is reproduced on superior quality archival paper or canvas. While the process is only several decades old, it is the method of choice for fine artists and photographers. Not all prints are Giclée, but mine are the highest quality and will last a lifetime.
WILL MY ART FADE?
Whether original or prints, NO art should ever be hung in direct sunlight, as all pigments fade over time. But Giclée inks are highly fade resistant and my printer has been producing canvas prints for artists since 2001. In that time, they have never received complaints about print fading nor have I (and I tested a LOT of printers!). In addition, I overpaint each print by hand to add texture and unique finishes with an added UV varnish on every print. Ditch the faded posters or prints, and get some real art on your wall!
THE FINISHING PROCESS
There are various steps required to create your Limited edition digital mixed-media artwork, and the result is a beautiful, high quality piece that will last for generations.

THE FINISHING PROCESS
There are various steps required to create your Limited edition digital mixed-media artwork, and the result is a beautiful, high quality piece that will last for generations.
- My art is scanned at the highest resolution and color-corrected to match the original perfectly.
- Archival, pigment-based inks are used to produce a clear, sharp image on acid free canvas (or archival paper if offered).
- The canvas is stretched, then stapled onto kiln dried white pine bars 1-1/2" wide × 13/16" deep (38 mm × 21 mm) thick with slotted, double-mortised corners providing excellent long-term stability and tension adjustments. They're designed with a 1/2" relief. Cross-bracing bars are used for large frames to prevent buckling.
- Each canvas image is hand embellished with paint and glazes for dimension then a protective UV varnish is applied.
- Images are finished with a white edge.
- The back of the canvas is taped and ready for your hardware. Most of the small frames are very light and do not require more than sawtooth hardware or a simple nail for hanging.
- The art is then signed by me, numbered and registered with a certificate of authenticity prepared for you.
- Once a limited edition print has sold-out in the series, it is no longer available for reproduction.
